🛍️ Introducing the Shopping District

We're excited to announce one of the biggest additions to CastawayMC yet — the Shopping District. A dedicated world where players can set up their own shops, sell items, and browse what the community has to offer.

What is the Shopping District?

The Shopping District is a completely separate flat world divided into a grid of 40×40 plot plots, each separated by clean paved roads. Every player gets one free plot to call their own — build your shop, stock it with items, and open for business.

Whether you're selling rare materials, enchanted gear, mob drops, or custom items, the Shopping District is the place to do it.

Getting There

Head to the Shopping District NPC at spawn and click it, or use the warp system to teleport directly to a player's shop.

Claiming Your Plot

When you arrive in the Shopping District, walk onto any unclaimed plot — you'll see a message in your action bar telling you it's available.

Once you're standing on it, run:

/plot claim

That's it — the plot is yours. You'll get a confirmation message and your plot sign at the entrance will update automatically.

Setting Up Your Shop

Once you have a plot, here's what you can do with it:

Name your shop

/plot setname Kieran's Item Shop

Your shop name appears on the entrance sign and in the action bar when players walk in.

Give a friend build access

/plot trust PlayerName

Trusted players can build and edit your plot just like you can. Remove them any time:

/plot untrust PlayerName

Reset your plot back to blank

/plot reset

Clears everything above ground level and restores the grass floor — useful if you want to redesign.

Selling Items with ChestShop

The Shopping District is fully compatible with ChestShop. To set up a shop chest:

1. Place a chest on your plot
2. Place a sign on or above the chest
3. On the sign write:
   • Line 1: Your username (auto-fills)
   • Line 2: Quantity (e.g. 10)
   • Line 3: Buy/sell price (e.g. B 500 : S 400)
   • Line 4: Item name (e.g. DIAMOND)

Visitors can then click your sign to buy or sell without needing any permission on your plot — ChestShop handles it all automatically.

Creating a Warp to Your Shop

Want players to be able to warp directly to your shop from anywhere on the server? Use /pwarp:

Create a warp at your location

/pwarp create ShopName

Players can then warp to you with

/pwarp ShopName

Manage your warp settings

/pwarp manage ShopName

Remove a warp

/pwarp remove ShopName

Browse all player warps

/pwarp

Your warp will teleport players straight to your plot so they don't have to go hunting for it.

How Rent Works

Plots aren't completely free forever — there's a small daily rent of $100/day to keep the district active and prevent abandoned shops clogging up space.

• Rent is charged automatically every 24 hours
• If you're online when rent is due, it's taken from your balance immediately
• If you're offline, it's tracked and collected the next time you log in
• You'll always get a clear message showing what was charged and your remaining balance

If you can't afford rent:

Your plot gets restricted — it locks up and nobody can access it, including you, until the rent is paid. To unlock it:

/plot rent pay

Check your current rent status any time:

/plot rent

Inactivity

If you haven't logged in for 30 days, your plot will be automatically unclaimed and reset so other players can use the space. Make sure you log in regularly to keep your spot!

Rules

• One plot per player
• No griefing other players' shops
• No AFK machines or lag-causing builds
• Keep your shop stocked — empty shops will be reviewed
• Be fair with your prices!
